Training program on Library Automation Using SLiMS held in Central Library KUET, Khulna.

A two days training program on Library Automation Using SLiMS started from 15 to 16 February 2019 was held successfully at the Digital Library Access Centre of Central Library, KUET. Prof. Dr Quazi Hamidul Bari, Dean, faculty of civil engineering was present as the chief guest, Dr Md Anwarul Islam, Secretary-General, Library Association Bangladesh (LAB) was the special guest while Md Akkas Uddin Pathan was the chair on the inaugural ceremony. A.K.M. Nurul Alam (Apu), Deputy Director (Library) Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank of Bangladesh) was the resource person of these training sessions. In these sessions, he demonstrated on SLiMS Installation, SLiMS Customization, Data Entry and other features on this software.SLiMS is an open source library automation software. Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB), Library Association of Khulna Division and KUET Central Library, Khulna jointly organizes the program. The purpose of the training was to enhance library automation skill of the library professionals and students of Khulna division.Around 35 library professionals from different school and colleges in Khulna division attended in the program. The LAB General Secretary congratulated the participants and the resource person for the successful culmination of the training event.
